rogaine (minox) allergic reaction

I used Rogaine (5% minoxidil) anti-hair loss foam twice a day. After a week, I developed non-itchy rash all over my abdomen and torso. The product instructions mention that some people may develop rash, but it is not specified whether the rash appears only on areas where the foam is applied, that is the scalp or it could be anywhere on the body. Neither do they specify whether the rash is itchy or not.

Has anyone else experienced this problem? What should I do to get rid of the rash?

Hello,
Usually rash as a result of an allergic reaction to any topical medication appears on the local area and from your symptoms the possibility of pityriasis rosea also needs to be explored.

Initially, a primary plaque, called a herald patch, is seen. Then it is followed by a distinctive, generalized rash 1-2 weeks later. The rash lasts approximately 2-6 weeks and is found in a Christmas tree pattern over the trunk and abdomen.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
