Try Nizoral shampoo 2-3 times a week, alternating with Nizoral Clean shampoo:

Get tested for Celiac disease.  Take a probiotic and Metamucil.  Digestive health is closely tied to skin health.  Avoid scratching at all costs.  Just massage shampoo in gently with finger pads when washing your hair.  The Nizoral should break down the sebum and dead skin gently for you.  To control itching, I like hydrocortisone 1% cream rather than the liquid "lotions" that the dermatologists love to prescribe.  If that doesn't help, try Benadryl gel or even aloe vera.  These are cooling.  You want to control inflammation and not scratch while it gets back to normal.  Decrease sugar intake and increase vegetables.  No fried food.  I'm just telling you what helped me, but it turned out to be related to Celiac disease and digestion/malapsorption issues.
