Back of head pain

Last month during a ski trip, my husband had a back wards fall. I didn't actually see the fall, but he said the he wasn't going fast at all, just slipped on some ice and fell back on his neck/head. Anyway, on the way home he asked me to drive because he had a headache; so he got into the passenger side and closed his eyes for the trip back home. I did check his pupils to see if they were unevenly dilated, and they weren't...

Any way, to the present date. He pretty much complains about a headache in the back of his head ever day. He is functioning and working everyday, just complaining :-/  . Before this he has never had headaches. He does intend to see a Doctor as soon as our insurance kicks in later this month. Mean while he is miserable... Any thoughts? Tks!

Thank you for your reply and information, I relayed this to my husband. I gave him 2 Advil gel tabs yesterday, and this seemed to help considerably. This morning he only took 1 Advil and I haven't heard him complain once! :)

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Check the back of the head (occipital region) to see if there is any swelling. Localized collection of blood or a contusion can cause pain. The other possibility is that your husband injured the neck and this is causing a pinched nerve. It may not be anything more serious as apart from headache he does not have any other symptoms. However all persisting headaches after a head injury should be investigated.
Hope this helps. Do let me know if there is any thing else and keep me posted. Take care!
