Dear Dr Nee your advice would be much appreciated

Dear Dr Nee,

I remember I wrote to you about 6 months ago and you recommended seeking another opinion regarding the fainting atacks, increasing headaches, seizure like activity, extreme noise and light sensitivity, vision/balance/short-term memory/ cognitive/ sleep problems fatigue etc and perhaps trying an anti-seizure medication. (Thank you very much for your advice - I did my best to follow it)
I am currently still on gabapentin (prescribed by GP since I wrote to you) but have not been able to consult a specialist (I’ve been knocked off an overflowing waiting list 3 times now) and things don’t seem to be getting better – the seizures are not fully controlled by the gabapentin dose which has been reduced (due to a diagnosis of polycystic kidney syndrome after an admission to ED following a collapse).
Still no MRI but eventually following another series of seizures over about an hour preceding an “unresponsive episode” lasting about 8 hours another CT scan and a spinal tap were done but thankfully came up clear whatever that means – blood tests came back with very high (3 times max accepted level) prolactin and C reactive protein levels and low haemoglobin levels but I don’t know what this means – another EEG was scheduled but again I got bumped off the waiting list – I have since been told that the 15 minute one which I told you was clear was invalid as I was on a high dose of gabapentin at the time and temporarily seizure free.
The seizures are persisting as are the prolonged unresponsive episodes – apparently I am totally unconscious of anything that is happening “including painful stimuli” and my BP is very low – both seizures and UE's seem to be triggered by blows to the head/concussions caused by continuing vision/balance/dizziness/ fainting problemsi.e. just recently I fell off a set of steps while trying to change a light bulb (I do try to be careful but I live alone so there's no one else to do things like that); I came round the next day (about 24 hrs later) but then collapsed again and ended up in ED where I have no recollection of the next 10 hours – apparently yet another unresponsive episode. When I come round from a seizure or UE in hospital apparently I am very disoriented and tend to discharge myself - I must admit I hate been in hospital which I imagine accounts for my impulsive departures - though apparently Im not even in a fit state to sign the forms.
My GP says that he’s not comfortable trying any other medications without specialist input but as I say I can’t get an appointment to see a specialist. I’m having real trouble consulting with my GP as I have difficulty focusing on what he says and I lose track of what I need to ask and remember – everything just blurs into a wave of noise.
I haven’t had a day free of severe or migraine headache in 18 months since the first accident and the neck and head pain is often at now blackout level i.e. when I try to get up in the morning I often literally faint from it when I try and lift my head or stand up. I don’t understand what is going on – I don’t know whether since the spinal tap and most recent CT scan were clear I am concerning myself unnecessarily and I just need to be patient and put up with the problems or whether I need to be going back to my GP although I’m not sure what he can do.
Your advice and any information you can provide would be very much appreciated, thank you, Jean
