Gliosis

My son who is 15 years now, meet with an accident in which major brain injury took place when he was 2 years old. MRI report states -
There is evidence of moderate size areas of altered signal intensity noted involving left frontal and occipito-parietal lobes with signs of space narrowing in form of prominent adjacent sulcal, cisternal spaces and left lateral ventricle. Small area of altered signal intensity also noted involving superior part of right cerebellar hemisphere displaying hyperintense signal on T2W images and hypointense signal T1W images suggestive of infract.

Rest of the cerebral hemisphere shows normal MR morphology, signal intensity and gray – white matter differentiation . The basal nuclei, thalami and corpus callosum are showing normal signal intensity pattern. Right lateral ventricle and third ventricle are normal in size shape and outline. Septum pellucidum and falx cerebri are in midline. No mass effect or midline shift is seen.

Brain stem and rest of the cerebellar hemispheres are showing normal morphology, signal intensity and outline. Fourth ventricle is normal in size and midline in position.

Major intracranial dural venous sinuses are showing normal outline and flow void.

Sella, supra-sellar and para-sellar structures are normally visualized.

Region of bilateral internal acoustic meatus and cerebello-pontine angle are normal.

IMPRESSION
MR images revels moderate size areas of gliosis involving left frontal and occipito-parietal lobes with infract involving superior part of right cerebellar hemisphere.

KINDLY ADVISE ON FOLLOWIING -
1) WHAT ARE THE POSSIBLE IMPACT OF THESE GLIOSIS IN FUTURE.
2) IS THERE ANY TREATMENT TO REMOVE THEM.
The above MRI repeated at a span of 7 years and the observation is same.

Thanks .. Ashok (INDIA)

No apparent swing his behavior pattern during last 10 to 12 years. After his recovery of initial treatment just after injury, there were only once in year 2006 Convulsive seizures and then after some minor similar attack in year 2010 and 2013.
Boy is studying in class 11th with average record and is under Homeopathic treatment since last 5 years under Dr. Kalayan Banergee -Delhi.
