HEAD

Hello. On sunday, I began to feel like I had a temperature when I was out with my dad. I began to become very cold and had a runny nose. Later that night, I took my temperature and I had a 102.5 temperature. The next morning I woke up with a 102.6 temperature. Yesterday, I had a 99.1 temperature because I had taken motrine and tylenol. During these days I had a runny nose, swollen glands, a high temperature, and an aching in my back and neck. I went to the doctor and she had me take a strep test and I did not have strep. During the past 4 days I have also been having a HUGE headache. It is pounding and when I stand up it becomes extremely bad to the point that I cry but then it goes away after about 10 seconds. What is wrong with me? I found that when i push in my right gland (the headache is worse on the right side), the headache becomes more painful. Also, last year I got in a bad car accident where I hit the right side of my head. There was a bump there from hitting it (and still is) and I had a huge headache from that too for a few days. That was in June of 2009. I'm pretty sure the accident doesn't have to do with anything though.

With the symptoms of runny nose, headache, and temperature, sinusitis and EBV infection or infectious mononucleosis should be ruled out. Sinusitis too can cause a pounding headache and so does a viral infection. It is probably not related to the head injury you suffered in June 2009. Please discuss these possibilities with your doctor and run tests for them.
