My name is Andrew, I am 18-years-old. I have had a bloody nose when i stand up, this has only happened three times in the past week. The bloody noses only last for about 1-2 minutes and are followed by a headache, about a 5 on a scale of 0-10. Both happen on the left side and the headace is in the temporal region. I have also had infrequent pains that seem to be behind my left eye in past years. Should I be worried?
Epistaxis or nose bleeds are really common in young individuals and these are mostly associated with changing in weather, stress, or with trauma or manipulation. The fact that you are experiencing additional symptoms such as headaches should warrant an evaluation by your doctor to rule out more serious causes (such as blood coagulation problems). If these nose bleeds are unrelated to the factors I mentioned above, then I believe this would also be a reason to have this checked by your doctor.
