MRI shows encephalomalacia

Just received a letter with results of my MRI from  the VA. I will follow up but it could take awhile to get a straight answer. "1) The lateral frontal and temporal encephalomalacia consistent with history of prior trauma. 2) Tornwaldt cyst. 3.5 mm right paratid nodule along the anterolateral  margin, probably a normal intraparotid lymph node, although a comparison with any prior imaging would be useful to confirm stability."  So what and where are these things and what are the possible effects. I have had a few bumps of the head but have never lost consciousness. I have been treated with drugs and ECT for depression for over 15 years. Could the ECT treatments be responsible for the encephalomalacia? Possible prognosis(s). Effects...

I'm curious enough and smart enough to google / bing this diagnoses I got today from a doctor today - What I can't find is an answer in plain English.

Is there anyone out here can tell me what I need to know. What questions do I ask a neurolist that I'm binging sent to.
