Neuro Surgery - Post Delivery - Recovery

My Sister Was admitted in CMC Hospital,Vellore  for her Delivery on 05.07.2010

She is 32 years old. she has operated before for her ovarian cyst, apart from this she is very very healthy girl.

on her 5th month they put MC.Donald stitch on her uterus.

Post Delivery she is unconscious, her right side has been paralyzed. Doctor told there is a Blood CLOT in her brain (left side of her Brain). They operated on 06.07.2010

We Don't know what happened to her medically.

Now she is recovering slowly. Now she has breathing by tracheotomy tube and we are feeding her by nose.

I am Literally in stress to see her, she is very healthy girl and a athlete in school days. But now she is  lying like a baby. She cannot able to recognize me or her husband.

Please help me to find answer for  the below

1. What is the cause for her blood clot on her brain?
2. How long she need to have trechestomy tube?
3. How long she needs to be feed by her nose?
4. Any way to make her recover soon to be conscious?

You can reach me through 9444926737 or waran.***@****

Thanks in advance for all who can help us.

With Regards
Shiva

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
I am sorry to hear about your sister Shiva. It is unfortunate but your sister has had one of the worst complications of surgery where a clot travels in blood stream and gets lodged in heart, lung or brain. It is very difficult to predict for how long she will need tracheostomy tube and Ryle’s tube feeding from nose. Normally drugs are given to dissolve the clot and the patient is monitored by regular MRIs. Sometimes a wait and watch policy is adopted. Please discuss with her treating doctor and neurologist. It is distressing, but only the doctors monitoring her can give you a clear picture. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
