Pontine Hemorrhage

Pontine Hemorrhage

My husband is a survivor of a pontine hemorrhage.  At stoke onset he was rushed to a local emergency room where he  received a CT scan.  They told him they could not treat him at that facility & he would be transferred immediately to another facility.  It was quite a while before the transfer took place and then it was a big rush to save his life by draining fluid from his brain, and the doctors there informed us he might not survive.  My question is:  Can waiting for treatment contribute to disabilities following a pontine hemorrhage?

Hi,

Generally the treatment should be administered between 3-6 hrs of stroke. If the treatment was administered within this time frame there is very little chance that it could have caused any more disabilities.

Take care!
