TBI and dementia
hi doctor, my husband is 63, he suffered a TBI 21 yrs ago to the right frontal lobe, his long term memory is still good but his short term memory is getting really worrisome. I am wondering about Alzheimers or other dementia's...does a TBI make him more susceptible to these? thank you.

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Yes, frontal lobe injury can cause memory related problems. Consult a neurologist to know the extent of damage. Then memory related exercises etc can be done to improve the short term memory. Take care!
