concussion

Hello, MY son has falling twice and hit his head in the back.. The first fall he had peeing on himself, personality change and headaches, loss of balance. The secound hit was about a month later. With this fall he hit his head and blacked out
After the last fall he now is having seizure like shaking and fainting spells. Sometimes the fainting is with out the seizure like shaking. He has had an MRI and EEG both have come back normal. They have said that he has PCS(post soncussion symdrome). But, none of these systoms match that dignose.

Thank you for taking the time out to respond to my question. I just had one more. A couple a days ago I noticed that he now has two knots on his spine at the top of his neck in between his shoulder blades that sticks out really far when he puts his head down to his chest. could that be from him falling backwards before and is just now showing up. Again thank you for your time.

Hi!
Brain injury can cause seizure even in presence of normal EEG and these respond to anticonvulsant therapy.  The other possibility is that your son has non epileptic seizures. It would be worthwhile to check your son's blood sugar and serum sodium level at the time of seizure attack. Generally low sodium or blood sugar precipitates it. Another possibility is brain ischemia or low oxygen. Another component of non epileptic seizures is psychological. Post traumatic stress is a possibility. Please discuss all these possibilities with his neurologist. Take care!
