concussion

by williamkancir, Dec 06, 2008 11:10AM
My doctor, nurses, therapists, & specialists all say I have a concussion from a 13 1/2 ft fall. There was no evidence of concussion on MRA & CAT SCAN. Memory loss occurred as well as all the symptoms but shouldn't the tests have shown it?

Many times technology and its interpretation is not as helpful as one might expect.  If you have the signs and symptoms, trust the humans -- the technology rules out more serious injuries that might need to be treated - like severe damage, bleeding, pressure from swelling.  Finally -- technology requires timing. Even an Xray may not show a broken bone until it starts to heal a day or more later if it is not dislocated.  If your symptoms are not relieved as a concussion do not be surprised if they want to perform these high cost tests again...
