Hi!
Yes, it is possible that you have a pinched nerve-- This can happen due to overuse of computers, work involving straining of neck, herniated disc, canal stenosis, bone disease, spondylosis, poor posture etc. A MRI of the cervical spine and nerve conduction studies may be required. Please consult a neurologist. On the other hand it can even be due to anxiety.
A very common cause of a feeling that heart skips a beat or gets an ectopic beat can be due to excess caffeine or alcohol intake. If you take either cut down the quantity and see if it helps. Smoking is another cause that should be seriously looked into.
At times it is due to electrolyte disturbance like sodium, potassium, calcium and magnesium. Hence get the blood levels of these checked.
Heart causes have already been eliminated in your case—except maybe holter will give some results. Anxiety and stress can also be a contributing factor. You can try meditation, yoga and deep breathing exercises to lower your stress.
Since I cannot examine you and know other related conditions you may be having, nor is a detailed history possible on net, I have listed the various possibilities that should be looked into. Please consult your treating doctor to run tests and examination to clinch a diagnosis.
Take care!
