by blahblahblahblahblahblahblahblahblahblah, Oct 30, 2008 07:07AM
I have a pain on the left side of my neck and it hurts to turn my head, I tryed massaging it and the pain goes right through the left side of my head its been like this for about a week just after I was sick with a cold, I'm just wondering should I worry about it or is it just a sore neck??

Hi.

From what you have described, I believe that this may be a muscular strain that may have resulted from your previous bout of cold.  Enlarged lymph nodes (also from the bout of cold) may also cause pain in this area.  I think that this would eventually heal or recover spontaneously, but I suggest that you still keep vigilant on any symptoms that may develop (such as progressive stiffening of the muscles in this area, or enlargement of lymph nodes).

for now, have plenty of rest and you can do some stretching exercises in this area of your neck.  Regards.
