Thankyou. Yes i did go to the doctors about it and they said it was probably something i had eaten. But i have another question... SOMETIMES when i cough i feel a small tense pain in my head, what could this be? Could it be to do with blood pressure? Thanks again.
Hi,
How are you? I was not able to get back to you. There are many possible causes of being sick or vomiting. This is usually a symptom of an underlying illness. Aside from pregnancy, this could also be due to gastrointestinal issues, metabolic problems or effects of certain medications. It is important to drink plenty of fluids and keep yourself hydrated. Take care always.
Ok thanks so there is nothing wrong with me and that would not have affected my brain right?
Also, i was sick last nigth 3 times, i am not pregnant as i have done a test and i am not starving myself or making myself sick and i dont have a bug, what is wrong with me? Thanks

I'm glad I could be of help. The throat is connected with the mouth as well as the nose and ears ( via the eustachian tube). The effect of force of sneezing with your mouth closed will easily be felt in any of these structures. This may also affect your tympanic membrane or ear drum leading to its perforation. Try to avoid closing your mouth to prevent any pain or any untoward effects.
Thankyou you have been a great help to me! i have another question if you dont mind? I think i usually sneeze from my mouth which sounds weird but i felt a sneeze coming on earlier so i shut my mouth to test wether anything came out of my nose instead of my mouth, but this really hurt, my throught hurt for a bit after that! what do you make of this? Thanks again.
It will not cause damage or cause significant loss of brain cells at all. Try to talk to this person not to hit you or anybody else's head because it is not a good practice.
Thanks. how about if a friend hit me on the head for a joke. Another doctor on here said it would do no damage, whats your verdict? It could lose brain cells right?
The brain is designed in such a way that it can absorb minor shock and force. It would also help if you describe what happened to you. A pat in the head or messing the hair is nothing to be worried about. The force we are talking about is stronger than this. Thinking about the damage done will only give you anxiety. One thing that will also help is to avoid such minor trauma or accidents from happening again. Take care of yourself and do keep us posted
so if i am 15 years old and like evryone, may receive a pat on the head by someones hand or from someone messing up my hair. If this does not hurt then have i lost any brain cells or had any damage done? Thanks.
This force should be quantified and measured in newton. In physics, a force is a push or pull that can cause an object with mass to change its velocity. Forces acting on three-dimensional objects may cause them to rotate or deform, or result in a change in pressure or even change volume in some cases. If you want the exact figures, this will depend on a lot of factors such as the age, the immunity of the person among other things. What force that could cause harm to the brain is different in a child or in an adult. I hope this is clear. Don't hesitate to ask if you still have doubts regarding the matter.
you said "this force" what force do you mean?
HI,
This force should be great enough to cause harm to the brain. Normally, the skull protects the brain. If the force compromises the skull, which we know to be very strong and hard, this will cause symptoms. If you have a history of head injury, I recommend that you have this evaluated further. A complete physical and neurological examination will help. Otherwise, there is nothing to be worried about.
Take care and regards.
hey thanks! could you give me an example of such force that could cause damage? i dont have a really bad memory its just little things where i will be like "oh yeah" if someone reminded me! is that bad? Thankyou.
Hi,
How are you? It would take a great amount of force to cause any damage to the brain. Pollution majorly affects the respiratory system since the smog or smoke is initially inhaled and passes through the nose and lungs. If you have symptoms of memory loss, have this evaluated further for proper management. A complete physical and neurologic examination is important to help determine the underlying cause.
Take care and regards.
