I had a bifrontal crainotomy with total excision of a brain tumor (olfactory groove meningioma) removed 08/18/2010. Problems: Pain when scratching scalp (light touch)  I feel that scalp is stretching (tight). Pain when touching forehead (both sides).  Is this something expected or something to be concerned about?  In November of 2010 doctor told me that my skin was fine.  However this feeling seems to be spreading.

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
The feeling of stretching or pain may not be due to skin. It could be due to pinched peripheral nerve from closure of craniotomy scar or due to a nerve compression either at the cervical spinal level or at the cranial nerve level. If you have diabetes or hypothyroidism, then also you can expect some peripheral neuropathy.
Since this feeling is spreading all over scalp, and local causes like dermatitis, dandruff etc has been ruled out, you need to consult your neurosurgeon/neurologist and try and assess a neurological cause for this. Take care!

Thank you for the information.  I am waiting for a call from my neurosurgeon.  Hoping this can be cleared up shortly.
