temporalis muscle severed in surgery. now numb. how long does this last?

i had brain aneurism in dec. its now mid feb. the left temporal muscle was severed in surgery and i now how temporal muscle atrophy. a hollow left temple and numbness on the left side of my head. how long will i have this? when will it go away? does anyone know?

Temporalis muscle atrophy is seen after cranial surgeries. Some muscle improvement may be seen by physiotherapy and you should consult your neurologist and a physiotherapist regarding this. The numbness can be due to nerve injury and this is something you may have to live with. However, nerve conduction tests can be done to see if some function is intact and if there is intact nerve, then with time and vitamin supplementation, things may improve. Take care!
