vertibral artery dissection

by samvad, Apr 04, 2009 01:15AM
I was diagnosed with a left vertibral artery dissection two months ago.  I had a recent MRI/MRA and it showed that the artery is still completely occluded.  My neurologist has said that I could go from coumadin to plavix now.   I am concerned that it seems that most people are treated with the coumadin for three to six months.  Will I be protected as well with Plavix?  I have numbness down the right side of my body and numbness on the left side of my face.  I have some affect on balance and coordination.  Although I have been difficult to regulate dosage on coumadin, I have not had any adverse side effects or excessive bleeding.
Should I stay on coumadin for at least another month?  I am only two months into this.
Thank you!
