Emergency Room Billing

Emergency Room Billing

I was treated at an ER and I paid the Hospital $1,200.00 for 12 sutures. The Bill included the ER visit and supplies. I then received a Bill from the Physician for $816.00. This Bill includes repair of my wound which is legitimate and again the ER visit. Why am I being billed twice for the ER visit.

Dear tripper282,

It is not uncommon for ER practitioners to bill the ER patients separately!

If you have a PPO plan, ask your insurance carrier if the practitioner is in network and/or if the charges are reasonable & customary.

Sincerely,
