Medical Insurance Advice

I'm a 23 year old female without medical insurance. I need to see two different specialists, one of them a few times a year. But because I don't have insurance I can't afford to anymore. I have not been able to find an individual health care plan for myself that I can afford. I currently don't have a job, but as soon as I am employed medical insurance is one of the things I'll be getting. Can anyone guide me in a direction so I can find some health care plans that suit me? I did have medicaid for awhile but no longer is an option. I need something affordable that is accepted with many specialists, radiology and lab departments at hospitals. If I can find one that covers prescriptions that would be even better, but if it's going to cost an extra $50-100 a month it's not worth it bc atm I do not spend that much on prescriptions. Thanks.

Dear JD3P,

I ran some quotes based on a 23 year old, using a generic NJ zip code (07080) and found 21 plans starting from $180 a month. Not knowing your budget (or in other words what is affordable to you) it is hard to make a recommendation but eHealthinsurance.com offers a feature by which you can search for plans that are accepted by your doctor. Keep in mind that if you run into questions, you can speak with a licensed agent who can help you with your questions round the clock!

Please note that depending on how long of a break in coverage you have had, your pre-existing conditions may not be covered right away.

Sincerely,

Amir Mostafaie
