New HIPPA Law states you have 63 days before lapse in coverage.

I found out today after having a company my husband started at that, that we only had 45 days before a lapse in coverage. So I called the Texas Board of Insurance and they told me that Nationwide the HIPPA law states that you have 63 days before you lapse in coverage. They told me to call the Labor dept which i did and they called the company and politely straightened them out and made them promise that i would be covered. The company called me within 10 minutes of her calling them and they apologized and said it was 63 days before a lapse in coverage and that i would be covered with my pre-existing.
