cancer a death sentence for insurance?

cancer a death sentence for insurance?

I have colon cancer, done with surgery a month ago, needing chemo in next 3 months. Short term, catastrophic coverage insurance expires on Jan 6 '08.

am I insurable by anyone offering a reasonable type of coverage or do I have to move to Cuba to get the chemo treatment that I need to survive at least the next couple of years?

Dear angelznest,

Your insurability by an individual/Family plan will depend on your State of residence. In most States you may not qualify for traditional Individual & Family plans if you are under treatment for colon cancer.

You need to speak to a licensed agent and find out how pre-existing cancer is perceived by Carriers in your State. You can contact eHealthInsurance.com at 1-800-977-8860 which is licensed nationwide & will be able to advise you on your options.

Sincerely,

Amir Mostafaie
