may need wrist surgery

by bball55, Mar 22, 2009 10:17PM
I am 24 years old, with no health insurance.  I'm going to see an orthopedic tomorrow, because my doctor isn't a specialist regarding wrist injuries.  He is a good family friend and is willing to give me a huge discount on anything he can help me with.

There is a chance I may need surgery to repair a fracture that I did not properly take care of at the time of injury (25 days ago).  I should have gotten it checked up at the time of injury, but I didn't think it was too serious.

What is the best way I can deal with the costs?  Any public aids i can get?  I basically can't afford anything over a couple hundred dollars.

If your income is low enough you might  qualify for Social Security  ( SSI)
and perhaps  Medicare.

Surgery will   cost far more than a few hundred dollars Hopefully, if this person is a good family friend, he will do the procedure for whatever you can pay or even not charge you.
