Intolerance to sorbitol / fructose / xylitol

Hi all,
I have been diagnosed intolerant to sorbitol / fructose / xylitol. When I eat foods containing them such as cherries, carrots, etc, I have a stomach ache, headache, diarrhea, etc.

I'd like to find a list of foods I can eat that do not contain or contain little of these sugars. Does such a list exist?

cheers

Hey roosteroo1981.
Welcome to the forum
It's probably a serious fructose intolerance.
The sorbitol and xylitol are alcohol
sugars and inhibit fructose absorption further.
If you have no problems with table sugar
that is very likely the case.
Table sugar is Fructose and Dextrose 50-50
and if you can digest sugar you can digest fructose
as long as you take  equal dextrose at the same time! (carry some with you just in case) The dextrose becomes sucrose in your dig. system and helps you digest the fructose without any problems.
Just do not mix sorbitol or xylitol in your system.( Watch out for gum, toothpaste and other products. Read all the labels first.)
This creates a mean bacterial coctail!
For the time being, if you want to correct this permanently,
you must give your digestive and GI system a break.
Should you decide  not take care  of it soon, your are taking a risk perhaps, as it may develop into a more serious issue like gut dysbiosis, IBS and possibly leaky gut syndrome. I do not intend to scare you but:
Chronic intolerances and undigested foods over time can cause serious damage with dire health consequences.

Avoid ALL sugars including all fruits, wheat and its cousins spelt and camut, brown rice rice and anything with bacterial cultures such as yogurt or kefir that could overstimulate your intestinal flora.
I would stay away from alcohol consumption as well.
Also anything in the onion family, anything with inulin should be avoided.
White rice, oats, rye, potato flour, corn flour, millet are usually O.K.
Follow  this for 2 months.
Your body will get a chance to rebalance and heal.
Then you can re-introduce one by one different food items that were on your restricted list, to test your tolerance.
Wait a few days in between though as some symptoms may not appear right away.
I will go back to my notes (it's been a while) if i still have them, as I remember there was some study on IBS and fructose intolerance that
provided a very comprehensive list of allowed and "illegal' foods.
My wife is a dietitian - but does not remember such a list- from her days at the hospital.
Nevertheless, the above information should be helpful as it provides the basics of the treatment approach.
I've used  this a few times in conjuction with my "Allergy Antidotes"work
(allergy elimination practice).
The one thing that I have observed is that the sufferers often have a hard time to adhere to such a restrictive program. Sugars are similar to drugs, highly addictive and very dangerous!
Hypnotherapy is actually something I'm planning to incorporate in my work, as it will help people remove many obstacles, implement positive
changes with ease and achieve the level of  health and wellness they deserve. (I received my professional certification only in July)
Something you may want to consider later, should  you find this program hard to follow.

Make sure you keep a dairy and record all the pertinent details.
If you feel overwhelmed or if your symptoms are too severe-
consider seeking out a Naturopathic Doctor that has a strong backround in digestive and GI conditions.
Feel free to message me or post again with any questions or progress.
Blessings,
Nikodicreta
