almond milk

Has anyone made any Almond Milk at home?  I was looking it up and found instructions on line how to make it at home.  I am wondering if anyone here has made some and if so, how did you make it (any sweeteners)?

thank you,

I've never attempted to make it myself. sounded like one of those more work than it is worth things...lol.

I like the chocolate almond milk you buy in the store. Haven't tried the vanilla at all yet.

I am going to swing by my local healthstore and buy some to see what it tastes like.  I don't know if it costs more than soy?

My DH bought some Silk Almond Milk today & surprised me.  It does taste good but he said it was expensive.  I said I won't drink it like I did the soy milk when I was buying it.  I would buy the 3 pks. at Sams Club for almost $8 which was cheaper than regular grocery stores.

I looked at the nutrition content....looks good, but it uses cane sugar :-(((  I hope to try make it naturally (without anyone getting sick...lol).

Too many of my female friends have had too many hormonal issues after they switched to soy milk. They stop drinking soy milk and ta da, everything goes back to normal.  It's not something I'm a fan of myself.

The chocolate almond milk makes good hot cocoa too :)

I am on my 2nd carton of almond milk.  I really like it.  I paid about $3.49.  The register spit out a .75 coupon so I will use it the next time.  I see there is "original" and "vanilla".  I did not see the chocolate, but will look for it next time as that sounds delicious :-))

I am lactose intolerant and Ive tried hemp, almond rice and soy milk and I would have to say that I'm sticking to good old soy milk not a fan of the rest..... But i support you with the milk alternatives they are great :)

are you just buying the silk almond milk they recently started marketing? many other almond milks out there. the one I've bought is in a carton in with the "health" food in the grocery store, not in the dairy.

I've yet to try hemp milk. I know the smell of my hemp hand lotion and can't imagine drinking something that has that odor....lol.

I don't like milk so I started using soy milk. I don't like the taste of it but I like baking with it. LOL If I have it with soya, I water it down a tiny bit so it tastes less yucky. I know I'm weird. I guess it's really the brand you use that determines how good it is. I like the chocolate though, no problem with it. I guess the reason I'm still on it is cuz I know it's better from me than milk.

I made almond milk myself by grinding up the almonds and then add hot water from the kettle and blend it up together and it's foamy and yummy. I love it. I make it with my Magic Bullet lol :D

Anyways, I also like Goat milk. I was reluctant to try it but it's pretty good.
