Hello,
I'm 17 years old.
For the last few months, I've had a weird kind of hearing loss. My hearing is pretty much perfect and seems by hearing test that I can hear all sounds I should be able to.
The hearing loss occurs only when there's loud sounds next to me, but it's not a complete loss, it's having a static sound in my ear like when you put the TV on the snow screen but just less noisy. It can happen on both of my ears but lately it occurs more on the right ear.
I went to the doctor and he did a complete hearing test for my ears and he said I'm not diagnosed with nothing so there's no reason for me to ask for help.
I'm really frustrated as it makes me feel schizophrenic when I tell people about it and it's not diagnosed.
Please help me :(
There is nothing wrong with your head....it's all in your ears.
Try to use ear plugs when you're around loud noises....music, construction, trains, etc.
Carry the foam type in your pocket so that you always have them available.
Protecting your ears now will save them in the future.
There is no real hearing test for tinnitus...doctors can only go by what you tell them when trying to diagnose it. Perhaps you did't explain it to your doctor properly, or perhaps he wasn't thinking about tinnitus...just the hearing loss.
