Muffled hearing. Please help!

Hi, Im 25 and been experiencing muffled hearing since march of this year. I went to see my gp as started using ear drops to treat muffled hearing and only made it worse. I went to see my gp who said i do have some wax, but its only soft wax and not completely blocking the canal, so he doesnt think it is wax causing my prob.
I also have tmj, and wonder if this could be my cause?
My symptoms are decreased hearing, tinnitus, muffled sound when watching tv (i have it at low level)

Any advice apreciated as its driving me mad

I think that your TMJ is very likely to be a contributor in this...I have TMJ and have had tinnitus on and off for 25 years....more on than off now, sadly. There are chiropracters who can manipulate the face, to release the tension which causes it. Also your dentist may be able to advise you about wearing a mouthguard to lessen the tension in your jaw, or adapt a tooth so that the TMJ is lessened. My tinnitus was much improved until I had a crown put on a back tooth a few months ago. My feeling is that it has altered the dynamic of the jaw, and set the tinnitus off again through misalignment......
