Partial hearing problem

all of sudden my left ear is blocked and hearing has diminished slightly. I experience no pain, inflammation, swelling. It feels a loud sound has blocked my left ear. Please what exactly could be the cause of my situation? Thank you

Make an appointment with an audiologist. Call first thing Monday morning.

It could be anything from middle ear pressure to a tumor. It is probably just fluid in the middle ear space, but you should (without freaking out) consider this an emergency and get it checked out.

Expect the audiologist to do the following:
-Otoscopic exam (looking in your ears)
-Pure tone thresholds ("beep" testing in a sound-proof booth)
-Tympanograms (checking the pressure in your middle ear)
-Acoustic reflex testing (checking the nerves to and from the brain)

It is all painless. You will wear various types of earplugs that are kind of like earbud headphones.

Thank you very much for your reply... I have already visited the clinic and the ENT doctor refered me to a hearing and testing center. I will keep you posted as to what ever happens afterwards
