Tinnitus & Pregnancy

I am over 4 months pregnant and have been experiencing varying levels of tinnitus for almost the last two months.  It began after first trimester "ear fullness" and bad rhinitis.  It sounds like a constant high pitched ring.  My dr. & OB said this can happen during pregnancy and see no reason to do anything about it, but it is affecting my daily life.  Acupuncture and massage have helped, but I can't afford to continue these options in the frequency that I would need to keep this at bay.

Have you heard of any cases like this during pregnancy?  What can I do to relieve it? Does it go away?

I'm sorry to hear that you are experiencing this too!  I am also 24+ weeks now and it has yet to go away.  I have been learning to live with it and dont notice it as much anymore although it never goes away.  It is worst when I am lying on my side (on my ear) and it is quiet.

My OB seems to think it will resolve on its own postpartum, so keep your fingers crossed.  Good luck!

LaCapitana - I am in the same boat as you.  I am currently 24 weeks pregnant and have suffered tinnitus for the last 10 weeks.  It is really ruining my whole life.  I have tried acupuncture and various other treatments too.  Please get back in touch with me and we can compare notes as it is difficult to find anyone else who is suffering tinnitus in pregnancy.  thanks, Mary.
