Tinnitus caused by ear infection

Ive had tinnitus for around a month now, I went to the hospital around 2 weeks ago for the doctor to check my ear. The doctor said I had an earwax blockage (which was removed when I went there), an ear perforation and infection, they told me to make an appointment to an ENT which I will most likely today or tomorrow. The doctor also prescribed me amoxicillin which I took for 2 weeks. Still ringing.
My question is, is tinnitus caused by an ear infection permanent? Or will it gradually go away within weeks/months.
I don't listen to anything loud at all, my headphones are usually quiet and i'm not near a loud environment ever.
