cochlear implant in one ear and normal hearing in other ear

Hello, has anyone had the above experience.  I am blind and soon I am going to have CI surgery for one ear.  I have near normal hearing in my other ear.  I would like to know if anyone else has undergone such a process and there experiences.  My CI was approved because of being blind and needing it for mobility and localization, long process for getting it approved.  thanks for any feedback
