my hearing loss.....

my hearing loss.....

Well when i was in my 20's i had a hearing test done.  It was routine, at the factory i worked at.  My left ear showed some high pitch hearing loss.  But that was it.  Nothing major.  I could hear everything just fine. Now here i am 35.  I started working in a retail store.  I cut fruit in a produce cooler.  Nothing unusual happened yet.  This was in December of 2008.  July of 2009, the refrigeration unit in the room i work in started emitting this high pitch noise.  It is a constant noise. It isn't on and off.  It sounds like the emergency broadcast system tone.  It does change in intensity.  Sometimes it gets really strong sounding.  But it never stops.  October of 2009, my family pointed out that i was losing my hearing.  I hadn't even noticed.  Well the first thing i did was inform my bosses that i was losing my hearing.  They said they was gonna fix the noise. Well here it is July 2010 and it is still making that noise.  They bosses say it is considered a low priority.  I went to a ENT in december of 2009.  He says i have sensoneural hearing loss.  But what is it caused by? He says it could be genetic or it could be because of that noise i am exposed to.  He doesn't know for certain.  So he is sending me to an otologist?  Well I am gonna tryto post my audiogram with this.  I have severe hearing loss in left ear and moderatly severe in right.  As far as tinnitus goes.  The ringing started in 2009,  but now i hear two different ringing sounds in my ears.  I also hear that noise i am exposed to at work.  It happens on and off throughout my days.  Even when i am not at work.  So my ears are driving me nuts.  My ears feel really full.  Also normal noises sound VERY loud.  Squeaky noises. The noise at work now gives me migraines.  Went to an neurologist.  EEG revealed migraines.  The whole side of my head hurts when i am around that noise.  When i am having a migraine, noises sound louder than usual.  Squeaky sounds sound extremely loud.  Or doors slamming, paper being ripped, zippers, shoes on floor, just the little things.  I am waiting for a doctor to tell me the cause of my hearing loss.  In January one of my bosses told me i could turn off the unit when i came into work and turn it back on when i leave.  Well the summer days came and in March i was told i had to leave it on.  While it was off, i didn't lose any more of my hearing.  Now it has been two months back on and i am losing more of my hearing again.  It is just getting worse and worse.  Well thank you for any input you may give.  I have contacted a lawyer, they say they need a doctor to say the noise is caused my hearing loss.  I have an appointment with a really good doctor, but by the time i see him i will be deaf. Thank you again.
