My mother is 88 years old and lives in UK. She has a severe problem with almost constant vertigo, and unsteady gait. Intermittently ( about evevery 2 months or so ) she gets attacks of vomiting, dirrahea with even worse vertigo which are very debilitating. Because of her age ??  doctors don't want to investigate the cause and have told her it is labarynthitis or Meunier's disease. The only tests she has had are looking up her nose and into her ears. She does have marked hearing loss and wears hearing aids ( no tinnitus ) She has taken stemetil  ( prochlorperazine )intermittently with no real relief. She was hospitalized last Sept with a UTI which was ESBL. She's had the dizziness for 2-3 years. Memory isn't so good. Does anyone have any ideas out there ? I think that if she lived over here in US, she would have been offered much more in the way of diagnostic testing. She is really suffering.
