Anyone know about safety taking Celebrex?

HI, some of you have seen my other posts and Know I suffered a MI in April and am still waiting to see the cardiologist . In the mean time I have lots of questions and concerns. I am still having lots of sporadic attacks, episodes of chest pain, and they scare me. Lots of people have helped me on this forum, and I am very grateful to everyone for their help.

In the meantime, I have a new question. I have a chronic back pain problem, DDS, SI joint disease, bad hips, and herniated disks. I have been taking Methadone since 2003-2004 ( Methadone makes your brain foggy among other things....) and it does nothing for other pains. At one time I was on Viox and then Bextra and they were both taken off the market. My dr. recently put me on Celebrex, and I am now wondering if this medicine is appropriate anymore for someone in my condition, who has had an MI?

I was under the impression that it was ok to take unless you had underlying heart disease. Do I now fit that category? I would like some feedback from anyone who has an idea. Also if I keep taking this am I at greater risk? I think I have enough to worry about without taking something that is not safe, but mayby I am wrong. Any help?
Thank you.                                                                        fluffypurrcat

Hi Fluffy,
Hope you feel better soon.  Try contacting your local pharmacist, they are very helpful and trained to advise a person taking medications.  Pharmacy has helped me alot in the past, before I got in to see a doctor.
