lipomatous hypertrophy of the Interartrial septum

by MamaPolarBear, Dec 04, 2008 10:10PM
I had an echo cardiogram that suggested a myxoma. The cardiologist did a trans-esophageal echo cardiogram and there was not a myxoma but  lipomatous hypertrophy of the interartial septum. I feel as if I been left out to dry. No recommendations for treatment or further testing. My symptoms include extreme fatigue (a flight of steps can wipe me out), shortness of breath, chest pain (I describe it as the guy from Alien who has the creature inside that wants out). I've had episodes of extreme shortness of breath/sweating/pain/dizziness that I thought I needed to go to the hospital. I have mildy elevated BP and my pulse rate averages over 100 even at rest. My ankles and feet swell at times. I suffer from migraines.

In a period of 9-10 months my fatigue has increased greatly as have the other symptoms. I can't do 80% of the things I used to do. Forget about lifting, carrying and walking. Cooking tires me out and housework has ballen by the wayside.

Should I go back to the same cardiologist? My famly doctor? I don't think the life I knew is coming back and it scares me.
