11 runs of non-sustained rythms

Hi I live in Fredericton, N.B. Canada.  I was told in Dec. 2008 that I have a heart condition called Prolonged QT.  I was put on 25 m. of Metropol (Beta Blocker)  Then in April of last year, I had what is called a "Reveal Device" implanted in my chest.  It was set so that it would not show anything unless it was 12 beats or more.  I went to the hospital on Jan. 24/10 and had a run of 11 non-sustainced palps.  I could feel it up near my throat and the monitor was alarming.  One doctor put down that I had a small run of non sustained v-tach and mentioned 11.

In Feb. I went for a Electro P. study and during the study when they were trying to aggravate my rythms, I went into Vent. Fibrillation and they stopped the study right away and I could feel everything going in the distance and then they hit the button and the paddles brought back my rythms.  The next day I had a defibrillator/pacemaker put in and I felt good to have that.  Now I am on 50 m. Metropol night and day.  I have been feeling quite well on it.  Last year, I had two fainting incidents.  Since being on this meds. now I have been lucky. I would like comments from anyone who has had this problem.  We do worry for sure about these things, but I have been doing everyting that I like since I got the defibrillator.  It is like having a paramedic with you at all times.  I lost my license to drive for a couple of months and then got it back.  Boy that was a treat.

I also got a Reveal device, and I got reentry non-sustained VT. somedays I can have 15-20 V-tachs that last 15 sec each, 215bpm. Really annoying to feel it in your throat...
Doctors don't now what it is, but im on med, and it has really change my life. still have some palpitations, buts its ok.

I'm glad that you're doing well with metroprolol, its a beta blocker so its normal to get more dizzy, its lower you BP. I've been on selo-zok(also a beta blocker) and I was fainting all the time, now I'm on Tambocor and its been a while since last faint.

Good luck with it all!
Ida
