do you know what has helped? sweating on the treadmill....i actually did got to my doctor after it was 138/88 that week and he told me to watch it and take it and monitor it....i cut back on salt, stress, and started to go on the treadmill again and it helps...funny, if i work my heart it lowers the blood pressure....now i'm someitmes 125/77.....

but i am still not getting sleep because of fulltime work and fulltime school and caretaker to mom who has ms and high bp...

happy voting day

We have been told by a relative that owns a health food store, that red rice reduces blood pressure.  My husband is going to try it.  Maybe it will help you.

135/88 isn't that high at all. Many people would be happy to have that blood pressure. It's fine to exercise with that blood pressure. Your stress levels can, as you know, have a great effect on bp and I'm sure that if you stopped focusing on your bp readings, that they will come down even further.

135/88 is a reasonable blood pressure in a patient without diabetes, kidney disease or peripheral arterial disease.  If you are controlling your BP with dietary modification and stress relief, continue to do so.  If you aren't already doing so, cut out as much salt and as much meat as possible, fish and some chicken is OK.  Eat lots of fruit and vegetables.  I would not report this to your physician at this point.
