In speaking with heart surgeons in person, they have told me that valve symptoms are shortness of breath.  That when valves are bad, you do not get chest pain from the bad valves.  You do, however, get chest pain from arteries blocked and spasming.  You should see the doctor regarding the chest pain.  You could have a blocked artery that needs to be opened.
