26 yr old, fatigue, pfo, 3 leaking valves

I am a 26 year old female.  I recently had an echo because my doctor heard a murmur.  The results came back that I had a small pfo, mild mitral valve regurg, moderate tricuspid valve regurg, and mild pulmonic insufficiency.  My EF was 55%.  My aortic valve was trileaflet.  I had gone in to the doc originally for fatigue.  I had my second child 7 months ago.  I had slight anemia at the time the doctor heard the murmur.  I have since had a repeat CBC which I was told was normal and a thyroid panel which I was told was also normal.  I am just trying to find out why I am so tired all the time.  I wanted to know if the heart issues could be causing it and also if I will need any sort of treatment for the heart issues (aspirin, etc)?

The echo findings aren't very concenring and certainly aren't the cause of your fatigue.  Not sure what is.  It sounds like the basic work up that you had came out negative.  Sometimes women suffer from mild depression post partum and maybe you should be screened for that as well.  It seems that you heart is functioning well and there are no issues with your thyroid or with any low blood count.  The only other thing potentially worth checking is your adrenal gland.  Of course having to take care of two little ones is tiring enough and may be the reason for your fatigue.  Hope you feel better soon.

I would agree two children can be tiring, but this fatigue has been going on for more than 7 years.  I have been borderline hyperthyroid for 7 years almost everytime I have had my blood checked.  I don't know what my results were this time.  Each time I was "within normal ranges" but close to being abnormal.  I thought that maybe the heart issues could be caused by a thyroid issue, which runs in my family.  Both grandmothers.  I just want to feel better.  I wonder if having recently been pregnant, that my levels have shifted the other way.  I've heard that pregnancy can cause women to become hypothyroid.  Its all very confusing.  I see my doctor Tuesday.  I'm hoping maybe he can shed some light on all this.
