A 17 years old female patient with NSTEMI and Stroke.

Hello All.
My cousin who is a 17 years old female had DVT in her left leg, thromboembolectomy done some 2 months ago. On 03 October 2016 she had an episode of unstable Angina at night while sleeping, rushed into hospital with in 1 hour, she was faint at that time. discharged from hospital after 2 days. she refused to take medicine after few days. After about 11 days she got severe unstable Angina again at night. This time she went blue and unable to breathe. rushed into hospital with in about 90 minutes. treated for unstable Angina. while still in hospital for second night she had unstable angina again. This time she was diagnosed with NSTE-MI and ACS.  She was given medicine and advised to go for CABG. after about each 3 days she suffered with breathlessness and fall in oxygen saturation, which everytime was managed with oxygen theraphy at home. After about 12 days she had worst breathlessness and chest pain. She went throuth CABG on 28 OCT 2016. On 29 OCT she also suffered with stroke which lead to paralysis of left arm and leg. Again after 2 days now she is suffering with visual hallucination. She forgot all things. Act like a child. She cry and sees the walls are falling over her, she request to help her, its earthquake, she don't drink water, she think her family has poisoned her water. She used to be a cherishing girl who always loved her family.
I want to know, will she be fine again? will she walk again? will she think normal again?

It is impossible to say if she will be fine again. I think that question can not even be answered by her doctors who have all the data and probably a lot of knowledge and experience.

Hallucination is quite common after CABG and that effect normally goes away in a couple of days.
Crying and feeling helpless is also often seen after such stressfull episode.
All you can do is to be there if needed, help her as much as you can, try to comfort her and make her feel at ease as much as possible.

Take care and let us know how she improves.
