I went into A-fib in May of 2006. I drank quite a bit before that and was taking Ibprophin (1200 Mg) to deal with pain caused by a fall when playing tennisRotator cuff tendinitis Tennis elbow. I was treated with rate affecting drugs. In September of 2007 I fell out of A-fib while training fro a 225 mile bike ride across Missouri. Since that time I was on 12.5mg of MetoprololMetoprolol Metoprolol succinate er Metoprolol tartrate Metoprolol-hydrochlorothiazide Extended. I went back into A-Fib in January of 2009. I worked out quite a bit during the time I was not in A-Fib; mostly biking, weight lifitng, tennisRotator cuff tendinitis Tennis elbow and ping pong. I took Amino Acids in protien powder during most of that time. Light drinking most of the time when I was not in A-Fib.
My Dr has sent me to a Dr that is an Ablation specialist. I would like to be sure I can not controlControl Control rx the A-Fib by life style changes. I think I can because of my sucess earlier. Since the reoccurance I have not consumed any alcohol. Searching the net I found that success has been achieved using ChelatedChelated magnesium Magnesium. I am taking 750mg currently; A-Fib is slower, but not stopped. I am thinking that A-fib may have reoccured because I started using protien powder without Amino Acids.
Most important issue is can A-fib be controled by life style changes or is it just an age thing and I should have the Ablation.
