I think I know where the docs were this week.  I just happened to be away the last few days on business, attending an Optical Society Meeting in San Francisco (Moscone Center West). Next door at the Moscone Center South, there was a meeting of the "Heart Rhythm Society" being held at the same time (see http://www.hrsonline.org/scientific_sessions/25th_scientific_session/general_information/chair_letter/Default.asp ).  There were at least a thousand EPs, medical equipment manufacturers, cardiologists, etc. attending. I tried to get into a really interesting session on atrial fibrillation but was stopped by security when they saw my CLEO/IQEC badge ("Your meeting is in the Moscone Center West, sir."). I guess I could have paid for a "non-member" one day registration but as you can imagine, it was a bit expensive ($300). I kept running into EPs at my hotel, retaurants etc (You could spot them by the blue badge passes they wore). I think my hotel room was the only one that didn't have a bag of goodies hung on the outside door handle one night(with info and little gifts from manufacturers like Guidant and St. Jude).
