HEART DISEASE EXPERT FORUM
A few PVC questions.

A few PVC questions.

First of all, thank you for your service.  This forum has been a great resource for me.

On to my questions:  I haven't seen a doctor about this, but I have talked to a few friends of mine who are doctors, and I'm guessing that I have PVC's.  I notice that they tend to be worse at night when I go to bed.  I couldn't get to sleep for a few hours because I was so worried about them (and I'm sure my worrying caused them to increase.)  Why would they happen more at night?  I also notice that when I'm walking around, or being active, I don't seem to have them (or I don't notice them), but when I sit down or lay down or quit moving around for a few minutes, I start having them again.  Does this tell you anything?  It also seems that the more I focus on them, the more intense they are.  What advice would you have for me?

First of all, I think you should see your own doctor, not just rely on advice from your friends or this forum. However, it does sound like PVCs. Worrying about them tends to make them worse, so try to relax. They are often more apparent at night, because you do not have as much on your mind at this time - this makes them more apparent. Sometimes, the slower heart rate at night also makes them more apparent. I would recommend relaxation techniques such as meditation and prayer. Try eliminating caffeine also.
