Hello. My mother recently passed away from ARVD. Her symptoms were largely unnoticed and overlapped with another condition that she had, so it came as a huge surprise (not heart-related). I am going to see a doctor within the next few weeks to have tests run. Until that time is it safe to participate in exercise/sports? I've read that athletes are at a higher risk of sudden death from ARVD so I'm concerned, but don't know if I am overreacting. I have some important events in the next view weeks so I'd like to participate in but obviously my long-term health is more important.
I've shown no symptoms thus far (I'm in my mid-20's). Am I overreacting or should I be extremely cautious when it comes to this disease? I really appreciate any advice/opinions.
