Abdominal Aortic

by MSUP, Oct 25, 2007 10:14AM
I had an abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) in 2004, bypass surgery was performed and I have felt fine since; however, this morning I’m having and seeing pulsations in my stomach and I’m sitting up not laying down.  I’m trying not to freak out but is it possible that I may have another aneurysm?

I am assuming that you had bypass of the abdominal aneurysm. If so, a new pulsatile mass may indeed represent increase in the size of the native aneurysm, or even a contained rupture ( pseudo aneurysm) and you should seek immediate medical attention in the form of an emergency room. This is especially true if you have abdominal pain, lightheadedness or dizziness. Do not drive to the ER, call 911 and have them transport you.
