Abnormal EKG

by Robert, Dec 06, 2000 12:00AM
I've completed the EKG,Echo,Stress and Holter tests. I have been having skipped beats. That was nothing new, but they started coming in runs of 10 or more. All the tests except the EKG were negative. The echo showed slight wear and tear of the Aoritc valve, but the Dr. said that was of no concern and my heart was healthy.

I asked him what was causing the abnormal EKG and he said it was from me having multiple sclerosis. Is that possible?

Thanks for your answer,
Robert

Dear Robert,
Multiple sclerosis is a neurological condition that effects the central nervous system.  There are some well known links between EKG changes and central nervous system changes so this could be to what your doctor was referring.  A link between MS and multiple PVCs is possible I suppose but this is not well established.
