Abnormal Lab Value

by Redbird18, Apr 17, 2008 06:01PM
I am 65 yrs. old.  Height 5'7" wt. 197.  I walk 3 miles/day at least 5 days a week.  My Cholesterol is 207, HDL 20, LDL 164, Triglycerides 116.  I try to eat healthy.  My HDL has always been low, but not this low.  I had a thyroidectomy 1.5 years ago and am on Synthroid 150 mcq/QD and Atenolol 75 mg, (my BP stays within normal limits with the medication), and Gemfibrozil 600/hs...

I know I should loose wt and I try to eat less without sucess.  Is there a different Medication I can take to increase my HDL?

This discussion is related to normal cholesterol , LDL ,triglycerides with low HDL.
