Accending aortic aunurisym

I am a 51 w/f overweight and smoker (trying to quit). I have an accending (on top heart) anursym about 3-4 in long and between 4.8 to 4.9. I also have aortic valve that needs to be replaced. I was diagnosed in Nov 06. I have still not had surgery. Would like info about surgery and am wondering if anyone else has had arthurids flair ups with this disease.

I was just diagnosed with a dilated aortic root at 4.4...will go for a second ct scan in July to see if it is moving...I have not had a cigarette since as this is pretty serious stuff...you should quit immediately...also make sure you keep to the very low salt diet....good luck!
