After CABG Problems

Dear Sir, My father is 67 yrs old and had undergone Heart Bypass Surgery in Feb 2011. He is under medication of Imdur 60, Atrolip 40, Aten 50, PAN 40, Mclazide M and Jalra 50. Some time he is having shivering in his body and can not tolerate. The doctors are keep on changing medication but no use. What is the exact problem i don't understand. He also feels tightness in his chest because of the wire used to to tie his chest. How much time it takes to dissolve this wire which has been used to tie his bones. please advise and help.

Well, the wires do not dissolve, they remain there. The tightness of the chest after 5 months is not uncommon and can be helped by breathing exercises. He should take a very deep breath to expand the chest, really suck the air in, then hold for a few seconds. Repeat this about 10 times, and do these exercises every few hours. I used to do 5 with my arms at my side, then 5 with my arms pointing up at the ceiling. It takes a long time for the muscles etc to get back to normal, but exercises like these really speed it up.
